About Alyson Hannigan
Alyson Hannigan started her career as a baby in the film, “Active Parenting” and as a commercial model for a Duncan Hines cookie mix ad in 1978. However, it was only until she moved to Los Angeles in 1985 that she began her professional acting career and won a major role in the sci-fi comedy film, “My Stepmother is an alien” in 1988. A year later, Hannigan was given a regular spot on the ABC TV sitcom, “Free Spirit”.
Throughout the early 1990s, Hannigan appeared in numerous TV commercials. Her big break arrived in 1997 when she was cast to play Willow Rosenberg in the TV series, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”. When the show became a hit, Hannigan gained recognition, which led to several films aimed at teen audiences, including “American Pie”, “American Pie 2”, “Boy and Girls” and “American Wedding”. ‘Buffy’ ended in 2003, but Hannigan reprised her role Willow in the Buffy spin-off, “Angel”, appearing in several episodes.
In 2004, Alyson Hannigan made her West End debut and starred in “When Harry Met Sally”. In 2005, she returned to the small screen after being cast in the hit comedy, “How I Met Your Mother”, which is on its fourth season by 2008. Hannigan also won a lead role in the 2006 comedy flick, “Date Movie”.
