The foundation of heera group started in 1979 by lead singer Bhupinder bhindi, Satwant tak, baldev gill and debbi, in that time they also did an album with Narinder biba, where bhindi laltonwala sung an duet album with the punjabi legend N.Biba, in the 80's this group gave the album patia botle ne, this song was a huge hit, which gave them alot of shows to do up and down the country Resham dhillon also got recognized as he only wrote for bhindi, later on J.kumar joined this group which was known as Quallander group later on it changed to Heera group, Soon after good friends great indian dancers requested bhindi to give their boliyan singer P Dhami a break in this well established group.


So now together with music of C.S Ajhuja they gave album 'bhabi te nanaan nachdi'(1983), song pind de mundiya te became a poplular number, Soon after jaghwala mela(1985) was released and became a very big hit, after this unfortunatly the main man bhindi ended his career due to health problems. Heera group then gave diamonds from heera, and continued their success until yaara di yaari, where now Palvinder Dhami is a solo performer and is doing very well, in between all this Satwant tak also became a singer known as Raga kaka. Eventually kumar stole the show by singing a very big hit in bollywood 'teri meri ek jind' from the film bulandi. Bhindi returned back in the market as a songwriter in the 90's, and wrote for a number of artist in the u.k, and gave a hit with his old band heera group 'tere nakhera ne town moh la sara' which made a name for the band in India.


PALVINDER DHAMI is a member of 'HEERA' Group,which ruled the charts from London to Ludhiana for many years with  chart busters like 'Maar Chadappa' from 'Diamonds from Heera' and all other seven songs. The indipop scene hasn't seen such a versatile singer as PALVINDER DHAMI before.He is a complete artist- not only an amazing singer in any language ,and a brilliant actor but also extremely impressive on stage and a charming person. 


Born and brought up in vill.Kishanpur,distt. Jalandhar,PALVINDER DHAMI ,son of late Mr.Sumitter Singh and Mrs.Jeet Kaur is the second son from a family of 3 brothers and a sister. He had his initial education in India. In` january 1975 Mr.Dhami moved to London with his family,where destiny played a very tragic role and he lost his father at the tender age of 16.Circumstances made him work in small jobs in a hotel and later in  factories. During this time, in 1978, he got married to Kuldip Kaur and now they  have a  daughter Daljeet and son Hartinder.

But the consistent inner desire to get into the music world and his love for music forced him to quit his job and join a Bhangra Group called 'The Great Indian Dancers'. Gradually PALVINDER DHAMIstarted performing and singing 'Boliyan' for the Group's performances. But in 1980 DHAMI ,encouraged by his friends and family, decided it was time to move on and joined hands with Kumar and together, they formed the "HEERA GROUP" alongwith  8 musicians and started performing for Birthday parties, Weddings etc. Finally in 1981,they decided to produce an album and with the help of Mr.Charanjit Ahuja (Music Director) ,they released "Bhabhi Te Nanan Nachdi".  After this there was no stopping them and in 1984 only another album "Jag Wala Mela" was released with music director 'Kuljit Bhambra'. Gradually the list of albums by them grew longer with another one in 1986-"Diamonds From Heera" with music director "Deepak Khazanchi" which was the first ever Punjabi, pop Album and was a smashing hit world wide. The Album was a trendsetter because of the fusion of eastern and western music styles. They appealed to the younger and the older generation because of their original style and the great music. "HEERA GROUP" were the pioneers in making Bhangra cross over international boundaries and as a result the punjabi music is extremely big all over the world now.
